Asthma in Adults and Children (symptoms, causes, treatment, medication) (Teens)

Asthma is a chronic lung disease that increasingly affects people all over the world, especially children, and is characterized by excessive production of mucus in the lungs, coughing, wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, etc. In children, it can completely disappear by the age of eighteen, but if it does not, it might remain a permanent condition. Nobody can actually cure asthma, but with suitable treatment, it can be manageable and its symptoms significantly reduced. It is very important to get regular checkups with the doctor, but home remedies can additionally help as well.

Click here if the attacks are happening two or more times a week.

Click here if it is difficult for the person to breathe.

Click here if the person in question is persistently coughing.

Click here if the person is breathing with a whistling or rattling sound in the chest, as a result of obstruction in the air passages.

Click on this if the attacks never stop happening; i.e. they last throughout the day, every day.

Click here if the child, who is having an asthmatic attack, is between 3 and one year old.

Click here if the child, who is having an asthma attack, is below 5 years of age.

Click here if the person who is having an asthmatic attack is a child (ages 5−11).

Click here if the person, who is having an asthmatic attack, is an adult.

Click here if the person, who is having an asthmatic attack, is a senior citizen (over 65 years old).
